An unbidden bonus from the teacher: the fire-rite will bear the student's name forever (Nāciketa-agni), and a many-formed garland — symbol of the variety of forms knowledge takes.
Meaning
Pleased, the great-souled (Yama) said: 'I give you yet another boon: this fire will be known by your very name. Accept also this many-formed garland (chain).'
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application
शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
