na nareṇāvareṇa prokta eṣa suvijñeyo bahudhā cintyamānaḥ | ananyaprokte gatiratra nāstyaṇīyān hyatarkyamaṇupramāṇāt
The crucial requirement of teacher-quality. The Self cannot be taught by 'an ordinary man' — only by one who is 'non-different' (ananya) from Brahman. Knowledge by acquaintance must come from one already acquainted.
Meaning
Taught by a lesser man, this is not well known, though pondered in many ways. Without one who is non-different (from Brahman) teaching, there is no way — for it is finer than the atom, beyond reasoning.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
