so'yamātmādhyakṣaramoṅkāro'dhimātraṃ pādā mātrā mātrāśca pādā akāra ukāro makāra iti
The bridge verse: the four states (catuṣpāt) are now mapped onto the four mātrās of AUM. The Self has four quarters in experience and four parts in sound — A, U, M, and the silence beyond.
Meaning
This same Self, considered as the syllable AUM, is the letter; considered as letters, the parts (mātrās) are the quarters, and the quarters are the parts — namely A, U, and M.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
