अथ यत्तपो दानमार्जवमहिँसा सत्यवचनमिति ता अस्य दक्षिणाः
atha yattapo dānamārjavamahim̐sā satyavacanamiti tā asya dakṣiṇāḥ

एक वार कपिगोत्रन शौनक ओर कक्षसेनके पुत्र अमिप्रतारीसे, जव कि न्द भोनन परोसा ना रहा था एक ब्रह्मचारीने भिक्षा मांगी कितु उन्हनि उसे भिक्षान दी च्ड ३1 शाङ्करभाष्याथं ३७३ हतयैतिदया्थः, शौनकं च गुन- ह" यह निपात पेत (परम्परा- गत कथानकं) का चोतक है ।
अक्षरशः अनुवाद — मूल संस्कृत श्लोक के प्रत्येक पद का प्रत्यक्ष अर्थ।
